Reflections by Stacy Smith,
Recipes by Church Health Center Wellness
Seasoning Lent: 40 Days of Recipes and Reflections is an eight-week devotional activity designed for the Christian season of Lent. It invites you to cook simple, delicious meals as a part of your spiritual practice for this season.
The season of Lent is the forty days leading up to Easter Sunday and is practiced by many Christian traditions. Traditionally it is a time when we honor sacrifice as a way of remembering Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. It is a period of fasting, a time when we honor simplicity, sacrifice and spiritual growth. Seasoning Lent invites you to “give up” unhealthy eating and “take up” the art and discipline of cooking as a part of your practice in Lent.
Seasoning Lent is currently available in two volumes that follow the Revised Common Lectionary:
Seasoning Lent Volume 1 / Year A and Seasoning Lent Volume 2 / Year B
Both editions are also available in print form on Amazon:
Seasoning Lent Year A and Seasoning Lent Year B

Walking to the Cross: A Devotional for Lent
By Butch Odom
$4.00 (includes shipping)
Walking to the Cross is a 40-day devotional designed for the Christian season of Lent. It invites you to make walking, reflecting and prayer a part of your daily Lenten practice. Just as Jesus traveled the long journey to the cross, we believe that walking is an act of spiritual and physical devotion.
Every week begins with a psalm and the opportunity to set a “movement goal,” or a reasonable physical challenge for yourself. Your movement goal may be taking more steps each day, going for a daily walk, wearing a pedometer to count the distance you walk each day, or any other challenge you wish to set for yourself. Each day in Lent also offers a passage of Scripture along with a thought and a prayer. You may read any time during the day, or you may reflect on them while engaged in your chosen physical activity. Also available online or thru Amazon. Released in 2012 by Church Health Center.
