Faculty Preparation CourseThe Faculty Preparation Course prepares faculty to become an Educational Partner with the International Parish Nurse Resource Center (IPNRC). This course is designed to familiarize participants with the curriculum developed by the IPNRC and used for the basic preparation of parish nurses.
New Educators and Additional Faculty:
Nurses who have completed the Basic Prep Course can become new or additional educators through the IPNRC by attending the Faculty Prep course offered each August. The course is held in a retreat setting and provides information on curriculum content and process dynamics that is necessary for teaching the Basic Prep Course for Parish Nurses. After completion, the nurse can return to his/her home region and educate registered nurses for this ministry.
The 2010 will be held:
- Thursday, August 5 - Sunday, August 8
- Mercy Center, 2039 North Geyer Road, St. Louis, MO
- www.mercycenterstl.org
Practicing Educators:
Current Educators can obtain curriculum updates, share teaching tips, network with other educators, and receive continuing education at a separate event immediately preceding the Westberg Symposium. This too is held in a retreat style and provides a forum for educators to discuss changes to the curriculum, challenges to teaching the course, and reinforcement on the scope and standards of this specialty.
The 2010 Educators Event will be held:
- Wednesday September 15-Thursday, September 16
- Embassy Suites Hotel, St. Charles, MO
