The current parish nurse movement began through a vision of a Lutheran pastor but the link between health and spirituality exists in every faith around the globe. Part of the IPNRC’s mission is to share information about the possibilities of health ministry with any community, region, or country that is interested. Staff and instructional materials are available to help guide the development of health ministries in a variety of situations and locations.
The IPNRC can assist with the development of a program in your community, region, state, or country by helping to:
- Explore ways health ministry can be incorporated into your faith, region, culture, or country
- Discuss potential partners with which to network or collaborate in health ministry
- Discuss how to recruit and/or train parish nurse candidates
- Provide education for parish nurses, Parish Nurse Educators & Coordinators through the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Curriculum
- Develop resource materials, tools, and continuing education material to assist with the structure and operation of parish nurse and health ministry programs
- Assist nurses and coordinators with networking in order to share programming and lessons learned
To discuss the initiation and development of parish nursing, contact the IPNRC staff by phone
